UGANDA Cranes staged a stunning comeback to beat Angola 2-1 to go top of Group J in the 2014 World Cup qualifier played at Namboole Stadium.
Tonny Mawejje scored a dramatic 90th minute winner to sink Angola after Emmanuel Okwi levelled matters on 82 minutes in reply to Angola taking a 57th minute lead.
Below are the individual players ratings for the Cranes.
Robert Odongkara 4
Always seemed on the wrong foot. He misjudged most balls in his territory. Angola’s goal was a classic case of his poor positioning.
Denis Iguma 4
Most of his balls were blind. For a fullback, who was supposed to start most of his team’s moves, this was unacceptable.
Godfrey Walusimbi 7
As solid as a rock. His game reading was superb. He was equally good in attack.
Isaac Isinde 7
A brainy performance. Always well positioned to save his defence.
Andy Mwesigwa 5
He stuck to the basics and delivered as required. But as a skipper he must take up a more commanding role to organize his defence.
Geoffrey “Baba” Kizito 6
He held up the midfield. Effective both in attack and defense.
Hassan Wasswa 5
An imposing figure but must get more creative on his final pass.
Moses Oloya 7
A creative midfielder whose dribbling skills always had Angola’s defence on the back heel.
Tonny Mawejje 8
His winning goal set him in a class apart. He also stood out as midfield workhorse.
Geoffrey Masa 5
He kept the Angola defence busy but failed in his cardinal role of scoring. Missed chances that any amateur would have scored.
Emma Okwi 9
He not only scored the equalizer, but also created the winner. A brainy player who rose from an injury to sparkle.
Robert Ssentongo 6
Came on as a substitute and kept the Angola busy.
Martin Mutumba 7
Redeemed himself after a shaky Cranes performance last year. This time he confidently sprayed killer passes. He also dribbled at will.
Hamis “Diego” Kiiza 6
His runs on the right flank gave the Cranes more punch after he came on as a substitute.
