President Yoweri Museveni is in Dar-es- Salaam, Tanzania to join other East African leaders in the historic summit that will witness the launching of the construction of the Central Corridor Railway-line that will link up land locked countries of the region to the Port of Dar-es-Salaam to ease the movement of cargo.
Other leaders who will attend the summit at Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre include the host President Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania, the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, the Burundi leader, Pierre Nkurunziza and the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Joseph Kabila.
President Uhuru Kenyatta will attend the meeting as an observer.
Museveni, who was earlier seen off at Entebbe International Airport by the Head of Public Service, John Mitala, the Chief of the Defence Forces, General Katumba Wamala, the Inspector General of Police, General Kale Kayihura and the Commissioner General of Uganda Prisons, Dr. Johnson Babashaija, was received at Mwalimu Julius Nyerere International Airport by the Tanzanian Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Bernard Membe and that of Energy and Minerals, George Simbachawene.
Others at the Airport to receive the President included acting Uganda High Commissioner to Tanzania, Ambassador Norah Lema Katabarwa.
