Butaleja woman MP Florence Nebanda has dismissed reports that she was hospitalized following a fight with her fellow MP Ann Nankabirwa, the Kyankwanzi District MP.

Media reports indicated that the two legislators fought over a bed on Tuesday night at NRM Caucus retreat at Kyankwanzi and were taken to a clinic for treatment. The bed in contention had been occupied by Nebanda since last Saturday.

Nebanda posted on her Facebook page on Thursday this morning saying she is feeling okay and that she had not been taken to hospital for treatment.

“Morning World.....No matter what leadership position you’re in, it's very important to respect a colleague whether short, tall, small, fat or disabled,” she posted.

She added: “Provoking, insulting and bullying in my eyes is totally unacceptable. We are all equal and voted by people. However no one was hospitalized as media portrayed,” she states.

Reports indicated that that Nebanda’s belongings were folded away and her bed assigned to Jennifer Nantume Egunyu, the Woman MP for Buvuma District, on the instructions of MP Nankabirwa.

According to sources, Egunyu, only reported for the retreat on Tuesday evening together with Julian Auma Modest (Abim Woman). All this happened when Nebanda was attending the classes.

Some MPs who witnessed the brawl said when Nebanda returned at about 10pm, she realised that her bed had been allocated to another MP and her belongings removed without informing her which sparked off a fight.
