Japan hails Uganda

President Yoweri Museveni has called on the Japanese government to partner with Uganda and investment in priority areas such as electricity; roads and agro processing of raw materials.

President Yoweri Museveni has called on the Japanese government to partner with Uganda and investment in priority areas such as electricity; roads and agro processing of raw materials especially shear butter in northern Uganda to spur economic development.


In a meeting he held with the Japanese ambassador to Uganda H.E. Kazuo Minagawa at State House in Entebbe in which they discussed various bilateral issues between the two countries, they highlighted other priority areas as the construction of the Atiak - Nimule boarder road connecting Uganda to Southern Sudan, building of flyovers in Kampala City and Ayago Dam construction.

''What I am interested in, is to see that the Japanese processors are linked up with our people here and  start the processing of the sheer butter oil in  Northern Uganda (Lira) where there is already a well-established government factory'' he explained.

Envoy Kazuo Minagawa hailed President Museveni for his good leadership and promised to bring highly skilled Japanese investors to explore the business opportunities available in Uganda.
