UGANDA Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) plans for the 2013/2014 league have got a huge boost after sealing a one year sh150m sponsorship deal

UGANDA Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) plans for the 2013/2014 league have got a huge boost after sealing a one year sh150m sponsorship deal with Crown Beverages under their Pepsi Cola brand on Thursday. 

The partnership, unveiled at Lido Beach in Entebbe, will have the event starting in August called the Pepsi Cola beach soccer league. 

The current league season is expected to conclude on Sunday. 

Announcing the partnership, Pepsi Cola brand manager Timothy Luzinda, flanked by FUFA chief executive Edgar Watson, said that the package will cover all the 16 clubs in the league.

Under the arrangement, the sponsors will cater for clubs transport costs for league matches at Lido Beach twice every month and spearhead media campaigns for the sport.

Pepsi will also offer cash prizes for the top three teams at the end of the season. The champions will get sh2m, runners up are guaranteed sh1.5m while sh1m is for the second runners up. 

The league is now in its third season.
