JINJA SS needed 9.2 overs to stamp their authority in the Pepsi Girls Cricket week, after they beat Kilembe by 66 runs in the action that took place yesterday at Gayaza High School.

Jinja Association of Cricket Clubs bowler Prico Nakitende picked five wickets for five runs as Jinja SS ran amok, breaking Kilembe’s chase of an earlier set target of 90 for five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Wanderer’s Janet Mbabazi, who also picked two wickets together with Barbara Nabirye, ensured that only Esther Athogere shone with 10 runs in their chase.

Earlier, Nakitende had scored 14 runs with Damali Busingye (23) and Rachel Ntono (11) as they set 90 for the loss of five for Kilembe to chase.

Kololo SS were also on fire, as Saidat Kemigisha (28) and Patricia Malemikia (24) saw them set PMM Girls 104 runs to chase.

Malemikia then picked five wickets for eight runs as they saw off the Jinja-based school in 10 overs with only 19 runs on board.

Nyakasura beat Masaka by 99 runs while Budo beat Ndejje by 45 runs in some of the other games played.
