THE Uganda women sevens team in Tunisia is in good shape for the Confederation of Africa Rugby Sevens tournament on Saturday.

According to the team manager and assistant coach Mike Wandera, the Lady Cranes are focused on getting a result in the opening fixture against Zimbabwe on Saturday morning.

“We are accommodated at the Mansioin De Rugby house in a town called Tunis Carthage and we have been given excellent treatment and good food,” Wandera stated in an interview yesterday.

He added that the team has trained twice since arrival and the girls were in high spirits considering that they have ever defeated all the teams in the tournament except South Africa.

“We have worked on rucking, scrumaging and team coordination - something that has haunted us in the past,” Wandera added.

The best two in each pool advance to the semi-final stage and Wandera is confident they will make it to the final of the one-day tournament.
