After failure to get a host of this year’s Challenge Cup, the Council for East and Central Football Associations convenes in Nairobi this weekend.


CECAFA spokesman Rogers Mulindwa said business will Start with an executive meeting  before an extra-ordinary assembly on Sunday.

Top of the agenda will be the region’s failure to stage Africa’s oldest regional competition this year.

Ethiopia withdrew its offer to stage the competition at the last moment, making this the first time the competition has not been staged in ten years.

Kenya who hosted the last edition last year are the defending champions. Uganda at 13 wins have won the competition most times.
