KAMPALA - Ugandan Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda has hailed Indians in Uganda for contributing to the local economy.
He was the guest of honor at the Swaminarayan Hindu temple as the faithful celebrated their 54th anniversary in Uganda.
While there, he hailed Bochasahwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminaeayan (BAPS) for paying taxes, creating jobs and keeping the economy on a smooth roll.
“I urge all of you not to embarrass us amidst your hosts,” said the visiting spiritual representative Pujya Sadhu Swayamprakash.
“Treat everybody like your brother or sister. Share the little you have. Finally I bring you greetings from H.D.H Pramukh Swami Maharaj.”
“While we are celebrating 54 years of existence here, we are also celebrating the 84 birthday of our religious leader.”

Guests were treated to drama about how the sick survive where there is a shortage of medical service, living without food and having no house in some communities.
BAPS – an Indian sect who swear a red dot on their foreheads – is determined to do things that will change people’s lives.
The group also believes in Karma which is a maxim that implies everything happens for a purpose.
