BODY builder Ivan Byekwaso, turns focus to the Musclemania Universe championship in the US, after being denied an entry visa to the UK.

The muscleman was meant to compete at the Miami Pro World Body Building Championships in London only to be denied a visa.

The Musclemania event, due June 27-30, is one of the leading natural body building events with international television coverage by ESPN and other worldwide TV networks.

It is recognised more than any other natural body building contest worldwide.

Last year about 500 sports models, natural body builders, fitness, bikini and figure women competed in the event.

“The good thing is that I already have a US visa so I will talk to my sponsors to divert their resources to that trip,” Byekwaso who had applied for the UK visa through the ministry of education and sports said.

Despite acquiring an air ticket and other logistics for the trip Byekwaso was denied the visa for what the embassy staff termed the “ministry’s inability to fund their sportsmen”.

The embassy stated that since it was the UK which funds most of the ministry’s activities there was no way the ministry could front someone for a visa without directly support.
