Vipers retained their status as Uganda Premier League table leaders despite their goalless draw against Express.

Vipers top the league with 30 points, six clear of second-placed KCCA who lost 3-2 to URA FC in Lugazi.

Patrick Ochan, Robert Ssentongo and veteran defender Simeon Masaba struck for the tax collectors to hand newly appointed KCCA coach Abdallah Mubiru his first loss since taking over from George Nsimbe.

Nsimbe joined Tanzania giants Azam as an assistant. Brian Umony scored a brace for the Lugogo-based side.

URA coach Alex Isabirye was delighted with his team’s performance while Mubiru blamed the loss on a lack of understanding in his style of play.

“URA had the rhythm starting from the first minute, that’s why they won the game,” Mubiru stated. At Nakivubo, Sadolin Paints beat Entebbe FC 2-1.

Norman Ogiki and Andrew Basooma scored for the Bugembe-based side before Phillip Lutaaya scored a consolation for Entebbe.

It was Entebbe’s eighth loss in the league out of the twelve games played so far.

In Bombo, coach Fred Kajoba beat his former employees Simba 1-0.

Lule Kibirige scored for Bright Stars. Meanwhile, Gabriel Esiku adds that Steven Ategeka’s 65th minute goal earned Ndejje a 1-0 victory over Soroti Garage in the FUFA Big League Rwenzori Group on Monday.
