Uganda Netball Federation (UNF) executive led by chief Susan Anek will carry out its duties uninterrupted.

This follows a decision by the National Council of Sports (NCS) to throw out a petition by Rosette Kaala against an interim committee in charge of the election exercise that brought Anek’s executive to office.

The polls were held in Kampala on January 26.

Kaala, who stood against Anek and lost, wanted the polls nullified.

In her petition, Kaala said some delegates were allowed to take part in the polls exercise when they were not qualified to do so.

But NCS dismissed her case citing article 21(14) of UNF constitution that gives the aggrieved party 48 hours to lodge a petition.

“The constitution is clear, whether the petition was good or not, it was filed after the constitutional time of 48 hours,” a member of NCS said yesterday .

The official added that the petition was also not accompanied by a non refundable fee as stipulated in the UNF constitution.

The official said that they had no option but to throw out the petition.

The official advised various parties in the netball fraternity to bury their differences in a bid to improve the game.

The interim committee was put in place to sort out chaos in the game ahead of the polls.
