Background:

There is an increasing number and intensity of disaster incidents which impose an immeasurable scale of impacts to the population. Society, government officials, policy makers, planners, implementers as well as ground level practitioners are in one way or another involved in combating these incidents to reduce disaster risks. However it has been observed that there is lack of effective leadership and adequate knowledge in disaster resilience which has affected full involvement of practitioners in resilience building activities, hence low improvement in disaster risk management (DRM).
