Three Ugandan siblings have been convicted in South Africa for the 2008 murder of a 72-year-old Danish millionaire, whose partially burnt body was found dumped with 48 stabbings and a broken neck.

A high court in Cape Town on Monday, found 37-year-old Francis Kimeze guilty of murdering Preben Povlsen while his widow, Maria Bulamu Povlsen, 34 and Stella Ssengendo, 42, were found guilty of being accessories to the murder, according to reports by the South African press. The three were also found guilty of theft of the deceased’s vehicle.

Sentencing hearing was expected yesterday afternoon. The prosecutor asked for a sentence of 25 years or life imprisonment for Kimeze, a minimum of 17 years for Bulamu, and a minimum of 15 years for Ssengendo.

The defence requested the judge to give Bulamu and Ssengendo a maximum jail term of five years and that since they had already been in prison for five years, they should be allowed to walk free today.
