PRIMARY seven candidates of Osokotoit P/S in Serere district are all smiles after Vision Group donated scholastic materials to facilitate them write their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) that begin today (Monday).

Candidates who registered for PLE this year received mathematical sets, pens, rulers and rubbers. The offer was received with joy.

“This offer has come as a miracle to me. I was preparing to borrow a set from a friend at our neighbourhood but you have come to my rescue at a time of need,” George Omoding one of the beneficiaries said.

Primary six pupils also received mathematical sets. In total 32 pupils of Osokotoit benefited.

Like Omoding, eight of his colleagues were going to borrow sets from friends in lower classes and in other schools.

Osokotoit P/S is one of the schools in Teso that Vision Group picked to support with Pass PLE tests published in Etop newspaper, hiring teachers from top schools to teach them.

It was identified after failing to have pupils pass  in first division since its inception 24 years ago.

However, since Vision Group’s intervention, the school managed to produce a pupil in division one after mock examinations.

“Osokotoit was regarded as a school that produces failures. But aid is changing the face of the school and we hope that it will produce reasonable number of pupils in division one,” said James Ekewu the Etop editor.

The deputy head teacher George William Ochom expressed optimism that with the support rendered to the school, the pupils will pass with flying colours.
