Muslims have been advised to work hard, educate their children and feed them well in order to build a strong community.

The Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje, was addressing a congregation in Nyamitanga, Mbarara recently during the last funeral rites of Haji Noor Lubega, the former district secretary for Mbarara Muslim district council.

“As Muslim leaders, we should use such fora to promote unity and development but not mosque takeovers,” Mubajje said. He added that much as there are people trying to sow seeds of division and hatred, the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) is progressing.

“The fact that we do not respond to our detractors with outbursts such as they do, does not mean we are weak,” he said.

Mubajje observed that because of its diplomacy, UMSC is progressively exposing the lies levelled against it.
