Combating unemployment would require the Government to emphasise entrepreneurship at all levels of education.
This will nurture an elite class well versed in business, a local investor has proposed.

Mukesh Shukla, the chief executive officer for Shumuk Group, said entrepreneurship must be a cardinal subject no matter one’s education qualifications.

He said entrepreneurship averts the challenge of consumerism (spending on consumption as opposed to investing).
Mukesh believes that emphasising entrepreneurship in the education system would help align education to the demands of the country’s job market.

Entrepreneurship is the art of establishing a personal business by undertaking innovations or introducing new business ideas and going ahead to develop business acumen by transforming innovations into economic goods.

“Investing is a venture no person should avoid in the process of pursuing wealth, but it becomes more productive if it’s handled with the basic knowledge which is enshrined in entrepreneurship education,” he added.

Mukesh was recently conducting a mentorship session during a business development training session organised by Enterprise Uganda.
