Rally fans will miss their favourite rally crew as Duncan Mubiru aka Kikankane didn’t register for the Independence rally that is on this Saturday and Sunday in the Districts of Wakiso and Luwero.

Kikankane’s absence left National Rally Championship (NRC) table leader Ronald Ssebuguzi with less pressure, a thing that increases his chances of winning the event.

Ssebuguzi (351pts), 120 points ahead of second placed Wilberforce Pole Pole (231pts) told New Vision that he is going all out to win the Independence rally.

“Our car last time got mechanical problems when the behind rod broke but we got it and have fixed it. We went through the roads and fair and there is nothing to worry about,” Ssebuguzi added.

Ssebuguzi the 2006 and 2009 NRC champion is targeting the Third NRC title. He just needs to get 91 points from the remaining three events that are Independence rally, Mosac rally in Mbale and the FMU sprint in December 26.

The 380km rally has 210km competitive sections with a new challenging section between Kapeeka and Mawale.
