Uganda She Cranes only need to tame Swaziland and Namibia to guarantee qualification to the World Championship in Australia next year.

The She Cranes raised their stakes gunning for a place on the world stage after overcoming hosts Botswana 47-32 in a brisk encounter in the on-going Africa championship in Gabarone ON Wednesday.

The Uganda side put away their financial woes, for the crucial win that kept Uganda’s bid for the top two places to the world championship alive.

According to reports, Botswana put up a spirited fight with some scrappy play though. But the Ugandans took a classy match to their opponents.

Shooter Peace Proscovia led the Ugandan charge together with Hadijah Nakabuye, Susan Tino, Halima Nakachwa and Flavia Nalule.

Proscovia netting 43 alone as Uganda maintained an unbeaten streak in the weeklong event with three wins. Uganda took a run-away lead 12-6, 23-13 and 35-21 in the first, second and third quarters respectively-leading the round robin event with six points.

Uganda launched their bid with a 53-40 victory over Zambia on Monday before edging out Zimbabwe on Tuesday.

The top two teams in Gabarone will join South Africa and Malawi in the World Championship in Sydney.

Meanwhile, the situation in the She Cranes camp will be relieved a little as manager Joyceln Uchanda has secured some sh45m to foot the hotel bill.

The team traveled with bare facilitation after securing air tickets from members of Parliament.

"We have not ben able to raise player's allowances. We had also borrowed money for training and still have outstanding fees to take care of training grounds. Any other support is still welcome," remarked Ucanda.
