A research fellow, according to the statement, is a scholar who is engaged in full time research in higher education and a reader is an equivalent of an associate professor in the Ugandan higher education context.

To deputise Tibenderana is Dr. Kassim Ssekabira who has been appointed deputy vice-chancellor academics.

Ssekabira has been the head of the college of open, distance and e-learning. He will be replaced by Dr. Muzamil Gulebyo.
