The Ndejje Angels flew well below their expected standards in the Airtel National Basketball League (ANBL) regular season first round.

Ndejje coach Walker Obedi cannot promise they will be better but he is hoping they will.

“I have set some challenging goals for the team in the second round,” said Obedi ahead of his team's meeting with TigerHead Power at the YMCA.

“It won't be easy but it will take commitment from us. I want the team to play better basketball in the second round but we are going to have to fight.”

Ndejje beat Power for the first time last season but the Angels are a shadow of the team that finished fifth in the regular season. But Obedi warned: “This game won't be as easy (for Power) as people expect”.

Elsewhere, the UCU Canons and Charging Rhinos face off in what will certainly be a closely-fought encounter.

In the women's ANBL, the KCCA Leopards should roll over Crane High while the KIU Rangers should have too much for the Makerere Sparks.
