Uganda’s U-20 international Joseph Ochaya helped his new Ghanaian club Asante Kotoko register their first win in the Ghana Premier League. Ochaya’s second half strike increased the fans love for the striker, who is fast becoming a household name in Kotoko.

The $30,000 (sh75m) signing from Kampala City Council helped the Ghanaian team, commonly known as Porcupine Warriors, extend the lead at the struck in the 71st minute to help his club to a 2-0 win over Berekum side Arsenal over the weekend. It was the team’s first win in this season’s league after 6 games.

Kotoko, though creating more goal opportunities could not put them into action as Ochaya and Kofi Nti-Boakye failed to turn the chances into goals for the defending champions.

However, in the second half, Midfielder Michael Helegbe opened the score sheet in the 64th minute at the Baba Yara Stadium before Ochaya doubled the winning pace of Kotoko in the 71st minute.
