Detective pins man for defrauding Kemigisa of sh1.4b

An Assistant Superintendant of Police has pinned a suspect accused of defrauding sh1.4b from Toro Queen Best Kemigisa.

Sylvia Chalangati attached to Kireka Police Station said the accused, Ibrahim Nsimbe alias Moses Kyeyune, a resident of Nakiyugozi, Makindye division, a Kampala suburb signed the pact bearing sh1.4b.

She was testifying on Monday at Nakawa Court.

“The Police were requested to examine, compare and establish the person who signed specimen signatures exhibited in different questioners and I carefully examined them and compared them with the specimen signatures provided in the exhibition,” she said.

According to Chalangati, the exhibitions corresponded closely with the specimens provided with a range of natural variations.

“His signatures were similar in design of the initials and ending strokes, character proportions, alignment of words, handwriting skills, size of letters and similar punctuations,” she added.

She added that that the similarities between those elements evidenced that the person who signed specimen signatures in exhibitions also signed the questioner.

Nsimbe was pinned together with his accomplices Dr. Martin Hoods and one Dr. Jonathan identified as “Europeans” who allegedly claimed to be UN agents. His colleagues are nolonger in the country.

Court presided over by Grade one Magistrate Patrick Wekeasa heard that Nsimbe did defraud the Toro Queen mother between March and November 2011 at different places in Kampala district.

Court also heard that the money was obtained by false pretence that they were going to effect registration of the Queen’s Non Governmental Organisation called Toro Kingdom Women’s Association with the UN and hire a bullion van for the transportation of goods that would be used in the transactions between the two parties.

The State prosecutor tendered the original documents analyst report to court for documentation, to which the accused’s counsel, Kabore had no objection.

The case was adjourned for defense on November 1.
