The Uganda Land Commission (ULC) was established by the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.

The Uganda Land Commission (ULC) was established by the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda. Article 238(1) of the Constitution provides for the setting up of Uganda Land Commission as an autonomous body and Article 239(1) provides for the functions of the Commission and states; “Uganda Land Commission shall hold and manage any land in Uganda vested in or acquired by the Government of Uganda in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and shall have other functions as may be prescribed by Parliament”.
 
The Land Act, Cap 227 Section 46 (2), provides for ULC to be a body corporate, and it may sue or be sued in its corporate name. It also prescribes the functions of Uganda Land Commission. Read more
