The wife of Barnabas Tinkansimire, the Buyaga county Member of Parliament, who was burnt in their house and died on Sunday in Mulago hospital, was buried on Tuesday.

Agnes Tinkansimire was buried in her parents' home in Katandi village, Kirewa sub-county in Tororo district.

Speaking on behalf of the family, the deputy prime minister of Tieng Adhola (Jopadhola king), Zacharia Ochieng Odoi blamed Tinkasimire for the death of his wife.

He said Tinkansimire knew the lives of his family members were at stake but did not provide them with security.

"You were aware of the enemies you had created as a radical politician. You knew your family members were vulnerable to any revenge from your enemies but you didn't provide them with security, making them an easy target," Odoi said.

Before the attack on his wife in their home in Mukono district, Tinkansimire had reported threats to his life by anonymous callers.

A relative, Lawrence Misanga said it was the wish of Agnes to be buried at her parents' home.

Tinkasimire told mourners that the Police had arrested some suspects in the attack of his wife.

The Rwemiyaga MP Theodore Sekikubo said the attack on Tinkansimire's family would not make them drop their radical political stance and fight against corruption in the country.
