The National Forestry Authority (NFA) needs sh21 billion to embark on a countrywide exercise to mark boundaries of all the central forest reserves.

The National Forestry Authority (NFA) needs sh21 billion to embark on a countrywide exercise to mark boundaries of all the central forest reserves.
The NFA public relations officer, Gilbert Kadilo yesterday said that the authority has this year received only sh2 billion to embark on the exercise and will cover 18 central forest reserves.
The central forest reserves include Namatale in Mbale, Soroto central forest reserve and Alunga mosi central forest reserve in Kapelebyong district.
Others include Kagombe, Kasaato, Kananga, Ruzaire and Nyakarongo central forest reserves in Kibale district.
Others are Nyamwasa, Kasenyi, Kaweri and Kisombwa central forest reserves in Mubende district.
Also to be marked is Bweizigoro, Taala and Luwunga central forest reserves in Kiboga and Kyankwanzi districts.
Others include Nkeera, Kitekyura and Muhangi central forest reserves in Kyenjojo district.
NFA is the government agency that is legally mandated to manage a total of 506 Central Forest Reserves in the country, measuring over 12,600 square kilometers and.
