Uganda Cup Final

Kobs v Heathens (4:30pm)

Heathens coach Brian Tabaruka’s resolve to do whatever it takes to win this year’s Uganda Cup and Kobs’ desire to win a first double in six years is what will make today’s Nile Special Uganda Cup final at Legends Rugby Club a cracker.

The clash the two heavyweights of local rugby has always lived up to its billing bearing in mind that today’s final also doubles as the ‘Lions Pride Cup’.

Heathens are likely to take advantage of their superior pack of Daniel Mugambe, Arthur Mukama, Michael Tamale, Alex Mubiru, Ronald Bahendeka, Asuman Mugerwa and Paul Sserunjogi to drive Kobs before off-loading the ball to the backs.

Brian Kikawa, Bishop Onen, Lawrence Ssebuliba and center/winger Michael Wokorach are all experienced enough to execute the moves.

Fly half and kickers Chris Lubanga and Jasper Ochen are expected to convert every penalty and also conversions after a try.

However, Kobs are not relaxed they have got an improved pack that includes Brian Odongo, Timothy Kabonero, Ebber Aturinde and Paul Barigye.

Kobs boast a lethal back line that includes Justin Kimono, Joseph Aredo, and Lawrence Wakabi among others.

Despite missing centre Oscar Kalyango due to an ankle strain, team captain Brian Odongo is confident victory is theirs.
