ENTEBBE - The Ebonies have set off for their UK tour, which has been in the works for several months now.

The drama group, which has over the last six months been rehearsing for perfection ahead of its London and Birmingham shows, left the country in the afternoon of Monday, August 18 for the much anticipated Diaspora show. They were joined by the singing duo of Radio and Weasel, who will be performing with them at all their shows.

Their show, a musical drama titled Entunnunsi, will be staged at the Troxy Theatre in London, and Drum Theatre in Birmingham, on August 23rd and 24th, respectively.

Ebonies publicist Sam Bagenda said he projects the theatres in the U.K will fill up to the rafters, especially since Buganda Katikkiro Peter Mayiga will be chief guest at both performances, and also because Radio and Weasel have not been in the UK for five years now.

The Katikkiro is also expected to use the opportunity to raise funds for the ongoing “Ettofaali” (Brick) drive, meant for the development of the kingdom.

Away from the Ebonies and Goodlyfe duo, the shows will also feature performances by Abdu Mulaasi, David Lutalo and Catherine Kusasira.

The show, Entunnunsi, is a musical dramatization of social issues, hinging on love and family among others. The group's tour is expected to end in Dubai, where another show is in the works.
