Ugandan businessman murdered in Tanzania

Police have started investigations into the death of Dr. Asadu Bakka Musujja who was allegedly murdered in Tanzania.

Police have started investigations into the death of Dr. Asadu Bakka Musujja who was allegedly murdered in Tanzania.

Bakka 48, a business man and brother to a renowned city businessman, Godfrey Kirumira, was buried Wednesday, in Goloola village, Gomba district.

He was reportedly killed on August 2, 2014, by unknown people  as he travelled back to Uganda by bus from South Africa.

Deputy police spokesperson, Polly Namaye said they want to ascertain the real cause of his death as a Ugandan.

“We are going to work with his family, and the Tanzanian police to investigate the matter.We are looking at his last moments, and those he was relating with,” she added.

Mayimuna Nakitto the sister to the deceased who picked the body from Tanzania, said Musujja’s death remains unclear.

“When I went to Tanzania, I found a youth, one of those who  contacted us, wearing the deceased’s watch. He also had a cellular telephone which I recognized as my brother’s.

But he claimed they belonged to him when I demanded for them,” she said.  

She added that on arrival in Dar-es-salaam, the contact person first directed her to Mbeya hospital but found nothing. “We continued to Mbalizi hospital where I found the body. Even getting the body was not easy,” she narrated.

During a funeral prayers at Wandegeya mosque, Sheikh Sulaiman Ndirangwa said they had lost a devout religious person and highly educated person who cannot be replace.

Musujja's elder son, Ssebunya Musujja said his father was always encouraged them  to study hard and to love God,” he added.

Musujja worked with the former KCC administration, as a finance director for over seven years since 2000. He is survived by eight children.
