Uganda People’s congress (UPC), has asked President Yoweri Museveni to give accountability of how the country has benefited from his recent visit to Washington DC.

John Bossa the party vice president said that accountability was important to the citizens of this country.

“The President owes his first allegiance to the citizens of this country, let him come out and tell us how his visit to Washington benefitted us,” Bossa said.

The President last week attended the first ever US-Africa summit in Washington DC, with 35 other African Presidents.

The summit was aimed at advancing the US administration’s focus on trade and investment in Africa, and highlight America's commitment to Africa's security, its democratic development and people.

Bossa also requested for accountability on troops in Somalia.

Bossa said the party supported the army’s contribution in Somalia and South Sudan but asked for accountability on how long the troops will stay there and how beneficial the entire program has been to the country so far.

“The soldiers in Somalia are our sons. We need to know how they are doing and how their families are faring,” Bossa said.
