KCCA FC edge out Burundi's Atletico to progress

KCCA FC progressed to the quarterfinals of the Kagame CECAFA club Championship in Kigali after beating Burundi’s Atletico 1-0 in their third Group B game.

KCCA FC progressed to the quarterfinals of the Kagame CECAFA club Championship in Kigali after beating Burundi’s Atletico 1-0 in their third Group B game.
 
Cranes striker Brian Umony struck the all-important goal from the penalty spot in the first half after being brought down inside the box by Burundian defender, Francis Nongwe in the 22nd minute.

Meanwhile, former Cranes Coach Leo Adraa now coach at South Sudan side Atlabara has promised a positive performance against Ethopian side Adama city in Thursday's third group A fixture.
 
With two games played Altabara have picked up 2 points, a 1-1 draw with KMKM of Zanzibar and a 2-2 draw against Tanzania league champions  Azam  FC.
 
When asked about how he will approach Thursday's game againt Adama City, Leo Adra  replied that  "We shall take it game by game in this tournament, i have the experience in CECAFA tournaments because I played many match’s  during my time and am hopeful we shall get the 3 points today" said the soft spoken tactician.
 
 “The club is growing everyday and because of my experience we shall perform better in this tournament because we came to compete not to participate as many may think.

In the other group A fixtures, Local side Police F.C will be aiming to get maximum points against Banadir of Somalia which is coached by former Kiira Young manager James Magala. to make it 3 wins in 3 matches, Rayon Sport take on Zanzibar side KMKM, the latter are yet to win a single game in this tournament.
