Government has earmarked sh200m to promote government programmes especially among the youth through interactive platforms.

It will engage the public through interactive platforms like face book, twitter, Wats-APP and Linkedin.

According to the office of the prime minister, the program will be implemented through the department of information and national guidance.

“The interactive communication tools are particularly popular with young people who are the bulk of the population,” stated OPM in its responses raised by the Parliament’s committee on presidential affairs.

The responses were in regard to the emerging issues on the ministerial policy statement for the office of the prime minister for financial year 2014/2015.

OPM explained that, government was embracing these tools, saying they are considered more cost effective, to complement the conventional media like newspapers , television and radio which are expensive and with limited reach.
