In 1987, he tried to get a ride on a lorry that carried agricultural produce to Kampala to find a job because he could not afford the fare. But the driver kicked him off at Kona Kamdini to load more produce. 

He had to work four days to raise half the fare from there to Kampala. Lost and disoriented, he was arrested by the Police on suspicion of being a criminal upon arrival in Kampala. Today, Joseph Adigi Omara, 48, now the MP for Erute County North, Lira, is a man in charge of his own destiny.

He runs a multi-billion empire constituting six companies, the biggest of which is Standard Signs in Kireka, sign manufacturers, branding and innovative engineers. FATUMAH NALWANGA talked to him about how he has managed to turn his fortune around. Read more
