I have never used any family planning method

BY CHRIS OCOWU N AND JACKIE NAMBOGA

Rural women speak out;

I have never used any family planning method because of the negative side effects such as heavy bleeding and giving birth to abnormal children. I have seen children who are deformed as a result of these contraceptives.
Lucy Apoto , mother of one Gulu Town

I have used family planning for the last seven years. a mother of two 12 and six years of age, first used injecta plan and later switched to pill plan tablets.
She was using injecta plan, but suffered an ectopic and was operated.

Justine Batale, a resident of Walukuba Jinja municipality

I use injectaplan, for child spacing. It is long since I enrolled for this method of family planning. “I use it every year after birth and I have never had any negative side effects.
All my children are healthy without any deformity. The method has helped me raise my children well because they are spaced.
It gives me time to plan when to have the next child. My husband also supports family planning.
Mildred Alaroker, mother of three Gulu

I have used FP for four years. I used both injecta plan and pill plan. I am a mother of two one is 11 years the other six. I discarded injecta plan because it caused me weight loss, backache, abdominal pain, headache and dizziness.
I also missed periods for three years.
