KCCA FC’s FUFA Super League season kick-off will depend on the club’s performance at the CECAFA Kagame Cup in Kigali, Rwanda between August 8 and 24.

According to the league fixtures that kick-off on August 22, KCCA is expected to open the season against URA FC at Lugogo on August 26 just two days after the CECAFA Cup concludes.

But a KCCA official, who preferred anonymity said that, “the possibility for us to play the league as scheduled will depend on our progress in CECAFA. If we reach the final (on August 24) it will be unfair for us to rush back from Rwanda on August 25 and play the following day.”

KCCA leave for Rwanda on Tuesday and will play their first match of the CECAFA Cup against Kenyan champions Gor Mahia on the opening day.

According to the super league fixtures FUFA released Wednesday, KCCA FC will meet URA FC in the Super Cup at Wankulukuku stadium on Saturday before their 2014/2015 season fixtures. The Super Cup is a season curtain raiser meant for the national champions and the Uganda Cup holders.

URA beat KCCA in the two-legged Cup final last June to deny the Lugogo side a double in the season.

The FUFA Super League rolls off with seven matches at the Lugazi, Biukwe, Kavumba, Kakindu, Nakivubo, Namboole and Wankulukuku stadiums on August 22.

The biggest fixture on the opening day will pit revamped Sports Club Villa against Sports Club Victoria University at Nakivubo. FUFA has maintained the first round fixtures to be played on Tuesdays and Fridays.
