Uganda Cranes fly out to Mauritania via South Africa Thursday, where they will be joined by first choice goalkeeper Dennis Onyango and lead striker Geoffrey Massa in Johannesburg.

Uganda take a 2-0 second round first leg of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier to the North Africans with FUFA, the playing staff and officials confident of advancing to the last round of the qualifiers.

Tonny Mawejje, who missed the first leg in Kampala due to club commitments, is also expected to join the contingent of 30 in Johannesburg, South Africa together with midfielders Luwaga Kizito and Moses Oloya.

The match is at the Stade Olympique de Nouakchott on Sunday and the team captain Andy Mwesigwa insists that they are not worried of what to expect in the return leg in Nouakchot.

"The first leg result is fair for Uganda Cranes and we are not worried. We look forward to the return leg. If we must lose it has to be 1-0," Mwesigwa said.

President Yoweri Museveni gave FUFA sh360m for the trip which the federation said will cost them about half a billion shillings.

“We wish to thank president Museveni for this timely support to us. It is the second since I took over this office. The first one was the sh380m for the game against Senegal. It is now our challenge to prove our delight by winning,” FUFA president Moses Magogo told their weekly press briefing at Mengo on Wednesday.

Uganda need a win, draw or at least lose by a single goal margin on Sunday to advance to the group stages of the qualifiers after a 2-0 defeat in the first leg.

Second half goals by substitute Brian Majwega and lead striker Geoffrey Massa is all Uganda needed to beat Mauritania in the first leg of the second round of Africa Nations Cup qualifier at Namboole.

The winner of the return leg joins Ghana, Togo and Guinea in Group E. At the group stage, the games will be played on home-and away on round-robin basis.

Meanwhile the Uganda Cubs safely arrived in Rubavu District in Western Province of Rwanda yesterday ahead of their Africa Under-17 Championship qualifier tomorrow.
