Six foreign crews enter Pearl of Africa rally

Six foreign crews have enetered the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Rally that is scheduled for August 15-16 .

1. Gary Chaynes (CIV)   76pts.
2. Mohamed Essa (ZMB) 75pts.
3. Jaspreet Chatthe (KEN) 58pts.
4. Giancarlo Davite (RW) 27pts.
5. Morifere Soumaoro (CIV) 18 pts.
6. Abdu Ssempebwa (UGA) 18pts.
 
Six foreign crews have enetered the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Rally that is scheduled for August 15-16 .

According to the Clerk of the Course (COC) entry list, the current ARC point leader, Gary Chaynes and Roain Comas from Ivory Coast (76pts), former ARC champion Mohamed Essa and Gareth Dawes from Zambia (75pts) have cleared the requirements.
 
The other crews include: Giancarlo Davite from Rwanda (27pts),Jaspreet Chatthe and David Sihoka (58pts), Rajbir Singh  and Timothy Challen, Manvir Baryan and Drew Sturrock from Kenya and  Morifere Soumaoro( Ivory Coast).

They will battle Uganda’s Abdul Ssempebwa (18points) who intends to use the home advantage to close the gap in the ARC championship table standing.
 
“Everything is going well and so far we have six foreign drivers who have completed all requirements,” FMU Deputy Vice President technical Katende Mukiibi confirmed the development.

The Pearl of Africa Rally is the sixth round of the ARC championship.

Local drivers Duncan Mubiru aka Kikankane, Godfrey Lubega, and the OiLibya team of Dr.Ashraf Ahmed and Peter Stone are yet to unveil their new Cars. Arthur Blick Jnr unveiled his last week.

Meanwhile the event got a sh82.6m sponsorship boost from Silver Springs Hotel on Tuesday july 29, 2014.

The sponsorship will include accommodation for all officials, foreign drivers, fully equipped secretariat, packing yard and awards ceremony function.

The Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Rally is co-sponsored by Silver Springs Hotel and Fire and Safety appliances.
