Voting ends in Kasese by-elections

Voting has ended in Kasese to elect a new Woman member of parliament. The race is between Rehema Muhindo, the NRM flag bearer and FDC’s Winfred Kiiza.

Voting has ended in Kasese to elect a new Woman member of parliament. The race is between Rehema Muhindo, the NRM flag bearer and FDC’s Winfred Kiiza.

Muhindo cast her vote at 10.05 am at Kitswamba Sub county headquarters polling station while Kiiza cast her vote at 8.31 am at St Theresa Girls Secondary School, Kisinga Sub County.

Retuning officers from 29 districts, including Gomba, Pallisa, Mityana, Buhweju, Rubirizi, Kyegeegwa, Mubende, Kabarole, Bundibugyo and Kyenjojo and Ibanda were deployed to Kasese to handle the exercise.

 According to the district registrar, Kenzira Valley, there were fewer complaints of election malpractise registered
