Makerere University Business School is accusing Uganda Land Commission for leasing out their land which members say was dome without following the regulations.

Public Accounts Committee chaired by Serere Woman MP Alice Alaso, while meeting officials from Makerere University Business School (MUBS), heard from the Principal, Prof. Wasswa Balunywa that out of the 15.1 acres owned by MUBS in Bugolobi and Kireka, only 2 acres are in the university’s name.

Prof Balunywa further told the MPs that some of the individuals who were leased part of the land in Bugolobi include First  Deputy Prime Minister, Henry Kajura, Augustine Karugaba and Alexander Okello among others.

The Committee’s vice chairperson, Paul Mwiru says the committee has directed the Uganda Land Commission to explain the giveaways and also provide a list of those occupying the said land so that it can help the committee in its investigations.
