The casket bearing the body of local musician Juliana Kanyomozi’s son, Keron Raphael Kabugo, was flown back home on Tuesday evening for burial.

Keron died on Sunday at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.

Sources close to the family said Kanyomozi was on the same flight from Nairobi although she was not seen by journalists at the airport.

Fans who had hoped to comfort her at the Entebbe appeared disappointed when they did not see the musician.

“I understand and share her sorrow and grief; that is why I came here,” said Shadia Nalwanga, a fan.

Hundreds of fans with the same sentiments have since Sunday posted condolence messages on social media.

Avoiding the media moments after arrival, the deceased’s father, Amon Lukwago, hastily hopped into a Toyota Land Cruiser. The casket ontaining his son's remains was loaded onto a van and driven to Kampala shortly after.

Music promoter Balaamu Barugahara, one of the people organising the funeral, said the programme for the burial remains unchanged.

The vigil will be at Lukwago’s family home in Bunga, a city suburb, and burial is scheduled for Friday in Matugga on Bombo Road after a funeral mass service at All Saints Cathedral in Kampala at 10.00am on Friday.
