Govt okays Pharmaceutical Training College

The only private Pharmaceutical Training College in Uganda based in Soroti has been   granted permission to operate by the Education Ministry.

Soroti Pharmaceutical Training College was given a two year provisional License mandating it to begin operations by the Permanent Secretary Education Ministry Abala Mundu.

In his letter dated June 19, 2012, to the proprietors of the training school, Mundu says following a recommendation from the Allied Health Professional Council, the institute is free to begin training pharmacy technicians.

He directs the proprietors to arrange for an inspection visit from the National Council of Higher Education for registration purposes.

The Principle of the Northern Division based institute Augustine Egou says they hope to take on their first intake in September this year.
