Afande Kelekele, the comedian 'cop'

Jun 27, 2012

Behind that lousy name, there is good luck, blessings and talent. Honestly, I do not know why I call myself such a name. I cannot even recall when I started using it.

George Mulindwa loves acting as a crazy cop on TV. Carol Kasujja found that he acts crazy in real life, too

Q: Kelekele sounds lousy. Why would you call yourself such a name?

Behind that lousy name, there is good luck, blessings and talent. Honestly, I do not know why I call myself such a name. I cannot even recall when I started using it.

Q: Is it true you left Amarula Family because you had no audience and lacked creativity?

A: I joined Amarula Family to get exposure not because I had no talent and lacked a creative mind. I left them because the directors were stingy and not appreciative.

Q: Does anyone take you seriously?

Usually people think I do not engage my mind before opening my mouth. But, those who have known me for a long time try to take me serious. Meanwhile, if I have money in my wallet, I do not care whether people take me serious or not.

Q: Are you married?

According to me, God gave us a gift of sex to enjoy, so when you have sex with someone it means you are married. As a follower of Christ, I am married and right now my wife is expecting our first born. I follow God who created marriage.

Q: Have you ever lived in a barracks, Afande?

I have never stepped in any barracks. I just admire policemen because they are working for their country. I do skits about policemen because people appreciate me in that way.

Q: Do you wear briefs or boxers?

Boxers are more comfortable and healthy. Briefs keep your testicles overheated and they are not comfortable. I usually wear dark colours because I travel a lot and at times I recycle them.

Q: What is your profession besides imitating security guards?

I am a certified renowned rugby coach. Do not joke with me.

Q: Most rugby players and coaches have well-built bodies, but you look weak and lazy.

Five years back, I had a well-developed body, I just lost it. Besides, the number I play does not need a huge body as long as you have the skills and speed. I play fly half, wing and full back. From the look on your face, I can tell you have no idea what I am talking about.
