Police are hunting for the owner of a condemned building that injured four people during demolition.

Police are hunting for the owner of a condemned building that injured four people during demolition.

Kampala Police chief Andrew Kawesa told New Vision on Wednesday that the area has been sealed off and the demolition stopped.

This after one person was critically injured on Tuesday evening and three sustained injuries after a building which they were demolishing collapsed.

 The victims were rushed to Nsambya hospital. Police identified the critically injured as Alex, who was hit by falling debris from the building located on Nasser Road only identified as “Mukasero” in the city center.

 Suula Mugabi, 23 a food vendor said that, he managed to rescue Alex after he had gone to pick his plates when heard someone crying for help.

 “It was in too much dust but someone kept on shouting help”, Mugabi said.

He added that, the falling debris had hit his forehead and was bleeding heavily before he hired an operational motor cycle that rushed him to Nsambya Hospital for treatment.

Mugabi narrated that the victims who started their work last week on Friday were contracted to demolish the building in search of metals and iron bars.
