A second pair of siamese twins died at Mulago National referral hospital after surgery on Thursday.

According to the hospital’s senior pediatrician Dr. John Sekabira, one of the twins died before surgery. ecause she was in critical condition since she was trying to come out through the birth canal and was exhausted.

Speaking to the press at Mulago hospital Sekabira said; “the cause of death of the second child was due multi organ failure as a result of toxins which were circulating in blood from the dead baby to the normal child”.

“They were sharing the same blood supply and the blood was being exchanged so probably the toxins circulated to normal baby and that caused the muti organ failure,” he said.

The female babies were born to Justine Kyalisiima and Samson Turyatwmba, all residents of Kaginga Rwimi sub county Kabarole.
