Tornado have high title hopes for this season. The Wanderers have genuine title chances.

The two pit their ambitions against each other when they clash in the Multiple Industries Cricket men’s top league today at Lugogo.

“We are looking at today’s game to give us some perspective as to where we stand,” said Wanderers captain Denis Musali.

The Wanderers got their season off to a winning start last week with a 13-run win over the Rounders in Jinja while Tornado recorded a reverse in their season opener, going down to Charity by six wickets.

The Wanderers have been runners up in the league for the last two years and their chances of winning the league may or may not be hindered by projected increase in the level of competitiveness.

“I cannot say if our chances of winning the league this year are high because they are many good teams,” Musali explained. “However, I am very happy with my team. Our squad is deep and it has a nice blend of youth and experience.”

Tornado have beefed up their team this season, highlighted by the arrival of explosive left-hand opener Arthur Kyobe.

Tornado won the preseason opening Twenty 20 League and have enough experience to reclaim the championship.

Defending champions Patidar( winners of their opening game) face the Rounders, who have played two and lost two.
