IT was one of the most publicised Easter concerts with top artistes scheduled to perform at the do. No wonder revellers turned up in colossal numbers in anticipation of a great show.

The Wato Wato concert held at Entebbe Resort Beach on Easter Sunday pulled an overwhelming crowd. Several revellers could not even catch a glimpse of the proceedings on stage and had to make with watching on the giant projector-screens.

Security was tight with a number of plain clothed and uniformed police officers ensuring everyone enjoyed safely. To avoid incidences of drowning and other unlawful acts, the waters were cordoned off as early as 6:30pm.

Last month, a woman was allegedly raped in the waters at the same place during Chameleone’s Valu Valu concert. No similar incident was registered this time.

Back to the show, it kicked off at around 6:20pm with Bobi Wine, who stepped up the stage amidst loud cheers. But he irked revellers when he did just four songs without completing any of them. Many hurled insults and complained about it.

Several also grumbled about a barricade organisers put to prevent fans from getting closer to artistes. The organisers’ explanation that the barricade was for security reasons fell on deaf ears.

Other artistes who performed include Navio, Goodlyfe and Mr. Woods. The show was crowned with Iryn Namubiru’s performance at about 10:30pm before people were treated to a disco which went on until midnight.

The show, organised by Baalam Baruhagare, turned out to be a good Easter celebration. Forget that there was nothing Jesus about it!
