Besigye does not know where the future belongs - Museveni

President Yoweri Museveni has attacked Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) leader Dr. Kizza Besigye as a person who does not know where the future belongs.

 "It's good that you rejected people like Besigye who don’t see where the future belongs. Tell MP Patrick Amuriat (FDC) to leave that group of opposition because it's a useless group. Recently they caused the death of our children," Museveni said as people burst in laughter.

Museveni made the remarks on Wednesday during a two-day Teso sub region tour. He commissioned an orthopedic centre owned by Dr. John Ekure and later attended the victory party for MP Christine Amongin Aporu.

He also announced that there will be no creation of new districts until Government solves the problem of inadequate electricity and poor roads.

This is also applies to town councils that want to be upgraded into municipalities, the President explained.
The President explained that there is no reason for people to demand for more districts when load shading is still a problem.
Museveni explained that load shading will become history in Uganda as more three turbines at Bujagali dam are going to be switched brining now the number to five turbines.

 "Electricity means more factories and more jobs for our children. So let us first deal with the main issues before we start talking about districts, municipalities and sub counties. A sub County can create jobs for a chairman and some councilors but it's not more important as electricity or a road," Museveni said.

Museveni who he described Dr. Ekure as a brilliant entrepreneur who has created jobs for the people in Uganda and offered to buy a sh40m electric drill used to fix broken bones.

He paid sh20m cash for the drill and pledged to extend water and electricity connections to the centre. Kumi county MP Eng. Patrick Amuriat appealed to government to offer subsidy towards the treatment of patients due to the high charges.
