Uganda National Council of Science and Technology has received funds from IDA and Government of Uganda, and intends to use a portion of these funds for the renovation of Laboratories and Green houses at the Department of Biological Sciences, School of Biosciences, College of Natural Sciences, Makerere University.

1. The Works are to be carried out at Department of Biological Sciences, School of Biosciences, College of Natural Sciences, Makerere University, Kampala.

2. Uganda National Council of Science and Technology now invites sealed bids from eligible, suitably qualified and competent bidders for the Renovation of Laboratories and Green houses.

3. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with open domestic bidding procedure contained in the Government of Uganda’s Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act No.1 of 2003, and is open to all bidders.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents at the address given at 9 (a) from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm during working hours.

5. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on submission of a written application to the address 9(a) below and upon payment of non-refundable fee of UShs.100,000 (Uganda Shillings One hundred Thousand only). The method of payment will be cash deposit to UNCST Bank Account. The document; if not collected, will be sent by courier upon specific instructions by the bidder. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6. There will be a pre-bid meeting on 30th January 2012 at 10:00 am (local time) at Department of Biological Sciences, School of Biosciences, College of Natural Sciences, Makerere University Kampala, to allow the prospective bidders seek clarification on the bidding document.

7. Bids must be delivered to the address below at 9(b) not later than Friday 17th February, 2012 at 10:00 am (local time). All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of UGX 10,200,000. The bid security shall be in the format provided in the Bidding document. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened thereafter in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 9(c) at 10:15 am on Friday 17th February, 2012
