I arrived before her and kept imagining that she could be older than me. When she arrived, I noticed she was the one because she looked a stranger in the place.

I welcomed her and told her I was her date. She said, “It’s nice meeting you.” We then discussed how each of us ended up taking part in the date.

I had taken my dinner. I told her what I had taken and she opted for chicken, posho, katogo and groundnuts. I told her it was the first time I was going on a date.

She asked if I was ready to be friends with her but I told her we would have to study each other first. I asked her if we could meet again and she said we would if I was serious.

She said I looked unserious and indifferent. I told her there was no way I would be interested in a person I had just met.

What impressed you?
She was inquisitive and chatty.

Her dress code.

Do you have plans to keep in touch with her?

I had a challenge choosing what to wear for the date; I had planned to iron a long dress but power went off. I just picked a dress that I felt made me look good. When I arrived at his table, he looked puzzled. He told me he had considered leaving the venue because he
was not sure I would turn up.

We discussed about our ambitions and hobbies. I told him my dream is to become a model. He said he has a friend who is already a model and he would connect me to her.
When he said he was not comfortable with my dress, I explained the circumstances under which I ended up wearing it. I told him I expected my date to appreciate it.

When I ordered for dinner, he expressed surprise about my combination, but I told him it was my favourite food. We exchanged phone contacts and left the place.

What did you like most about him?
He is principled and honest. He spoke out his mind.

Did he upset you in any way?
His reaction to my dress code was uncalled for. I was a stranger to him and so he should have waited for the right time.

If he invites you for an outing, will you go?
I am not sure because I was not amused by the way he treated me that day.
