EDITOR—I am grateful for the stewardship of Centenary Bank and all the brains behind the bank’s development. Amidst the looming global financial downturn which has crippled a number of local and international financial institutions, Centenary has posted commendable performance and growth over time.

According to recent statements by Bank of Uganda officials, Centenary is one of the banks that have maintained adequate liquidity to meet operational requirements. This has instilled much confidence in many people’s hearts. Because of that, Centenary’s customers base is growing by the day.

Last month alone, Centenary opened two branches in Masindi and Bwaise.

Early this year it expects to open one branch in Mubende and another in Jinja bringing its total number of branches countrywide to 36. As a Ugandan and customer of Centenary Bank, I feel honoured to be associated with the CERUDEB family.

For a local bank to hold out in spreading financial services in the midst of over 20 banks, the majority of which are either international or regional, it is a remarkable achievement and a blessing to the nation.
